FEBRUARY PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

Neto brings award to NJ for second time; Fabinho, Vorberg also win

CHICAGO (March 4, 2009) -- The Xtreme Soccer League honors the top offensive player, defensive player and goalkeeper in the league every month. February's Player of the Month selections are:

OFFENSE: Adauto Neto, New Jersey -- The Brazilian striker came up with six goals and six assists during February, climbing to a tie for second in the XSL scoring race with Detroit's Ryan Mack. He had a pair of goals in the 10-8 overtime win at Detroit last week, helping the Ironmen (6-7) get within 2 games of the XSL lead.

DEFENSE: Fabinho, Chicago -- With 15 blocks and eight points in seven games, Fabinho figured heavily in the Storm's convincing road sweep of Detroit and Milwaukee near the end of February. At Detroit he came up with three shot blocks, then added two more blocks and five points, including the game-winning shorthanded goal, at Milwaukee.

GOALKEEPER: Nick Vorberg, Milwaukee -- Three times in February, Vorberg held a team to four points or less as the Wave (8-5) ended the month with the league's best record. Vorberg stopped 50 of 66 shots and posted a 3-2 record in February.

Founded last summer by the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave and New Jersey Ironmen, the Xtreme Soccer League is more than an indoor soccer league.
