XSL FANTASY GAME BEGINS JANUARY 1st
CHICAGO (Dec. 19, 2008) — The Xtreme Soccer Fantasy League begins play Jan. 1. This game brings the popular statistics-based contest to the high-scoring world of indoor soccer for the first time.
Draft your team of six midfielders/forwards, four defenders and two goalkeepers beginning next week; continue to check your team websites and XtremeSL.net for the official opener. Fans aim to compile as many points as possible, competing against other participants for monthly and overall prizes.
The top five scorers each month from January through March will receive an Official XSL Match Ball from Brine, and participant who compiles the most points throughout the XSL season receives two free season tickets to the XSL team of their choice and a year’s worth of burritos from Chipotle.
Pointstreak, the official statistics partner of the XSL, developed the platform for this free online game.
“We hope this new opportunity provides some fun interactivity between fans, and also encourages fans to learn more about every player in the league,” said Commissioner Brian Loftin.
Founded this summer by the Milwaukee Wave, Detroit Ignition, New Jersey Ironmen and Chicago Storm, the Xtreme Soccer League is more than an indoor soccer league. The Xtreme Soccer Xperience is an energetic and innovative 12-month sports lifestyle brand built around skilled soccer professionals, entertainment and fan participation — both live and online.
