XSL ANNOUCES 2008-2009 SCHEDULE!

CHICAGO (Sept. 26, 2008) – Fans, are you ready for some futbol? Professional indoor soccer action heats up December with the premiere of the Xtreme Soccer League.

The XSL announced its 2008-2009 schedule on Friday, Sept. 26. The Chicago Storm travel to New Jersey to take on the Ironmen for their season opener on Sunday, Dec. 14. The Storm’s home opener takes place Saturday, Dec. 20, against the Milwaukee Wave at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

XSL teams play a 20-game regular season from December through early April of 2009. Rules remain unchanged from previous seasons, including multiple-point scoring. Fans who cannot travel to the arena will have the games at their finger tips: Efforts are in the works to include live Web streaming of all games and an online fantasy game accessible at www.XtremeSL.net.

The Xtreme Soccer League formed after the Major Indoor Soccer League ceased operations in May of 2008. The XSL offers the highest caliber of professional indoor soccer. Detroit, Milwaukee and Chicago each at some point had a first-place lead during the 2007-2008 MISL regular season.

The Xtreme Soccer League held its official unveiling on Sept. 16, 2008, at the historic Milwaukee Theatre in Milwaukee, Wis. The XSL features four teams: the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave and New Jersey Ironmen. The first player to officially sign with the XSL was Brazilian native Marcio Leite, who was assigned to Milwaukee. In addition to the 2008-2009 season, XSL organizations will host 3-vs.-3 soccer, beach soccer and many other community-based initiatives as part of the Xtreme Soccer Xperience.
